About Clear Aligners
Clear aligners straighten teeth with a series of custom clear trays instead of brackets and wires. Each tray is slightly different from the last, you wear each one for about a week or two, and the teeth move a small amount at a time until they reach the position Dr. Gamblin planned from your digital scan.
The appeal is obvious. They are hard to notice in person and in photos, and they come out for meals, brushing, and flossing, so there is no list of foods to avoid and no cleaning around brackets. For adults in particular, that combination is often what finally gets treatment started.
The trade-off is that aligners only work while they are in your mouth, which means roughly 22 hours a day, every day. Patients who treat them as optional stall out and extend their own treatment. Patients who wear them finish on time, and many finish in about the same window as braces would have taken.
Aligners are not right for every case. Some bites need the constant force and control that fixed braces give. At your free consult, Dr. Gamblin scans your teeth, shows you what the movement plan looks like, and tells you straight whether aligners will get you the result you want or whether braces are the better tool. Both start at 10% down with interest-free in-house payments.
Clear aligners are available at both offices: clear aligners in Ridgeland and clear aligners in Hazlehurst.
Solventum Clarity Aligners
We treat with Clarity aligners by Solventum. The trays are trimmed to the gumline for a low-profile fit, they are made from your 3D digital scan rather than putty impressions, and the whole sequence is planned before the first tray is ever made. Because your scan stays on file, replacing a lost or damaged tray usually does not mean starting the process again.

Clear Aligners for Kids
Aligners can work well for children, but the honest requirement is cooperation. A child who will keep the trays in for 22 hours a day, take them out for meals, and not lose them at school is a good candidate. A child who will not is better served by braces, which do the work without asking permission.
There are real advantages when it does fit. Brushing and flossing stay normal, so oral hygiene through treatment is easier to keep on track. There are no food restrictions, which matters more to a nine-year-old than most adults remember. And there is nothing sharp to irritate the inside of the lip during sports.
We also watch fit carefully in growing mouths. Kids are losing baby teeth and gaining permanent ones mid-treatment, so Dr. Gamblin plans around what is still coming in and adjusts the sequence when a tooth erupts ahead of or behind schedule.
At your child’s free consult, we scan, review the bite, and give you a clear read on whether aligners or braces are the better fit for their case and their personality. We would rather say braces up front than watch a family pay for treatment that does not get worn.

Clear Aligners for Teens
Aligners are popular with teenagers for the reason you would expect: they barely show. For a teen who dreads photos, plays a wind instrument, or simply does not want braces in every picture from the next two years, clear trays remove the objection that keeps treatment from starting.
They also come out for games and practice, which athletes appreciate, and there is no bracket to break on contact. Cleaning is ordinary brushing and flossing, so hygiene does not slide the way it sometimes does with braces and a busy schedule.
The catch is the same one adults face, multiplied by a teenage calendar. Trays left in a lunchroom or sitting in a case during a movie marathon are trays not doing their job, and treatment stretches out. We set the expectation clearly at the start, track progress at each visit, and tell you honestly if wear time is the reason things are behind.
If your teen wants aligners and will wear them, they are a good option. If wear time turns out to be a problem, we can talk about switching to braces rather than letting treatment drift for another year.

Clear Aligners for Adults
Most adults who ask us about aligners are weighing one thing: they want their teeth fixed, and they do not want to spend two years in visible braces at work. Clarity aligners answer that directly. They are hard to notice across a conference table, and they come out for a client lunch.
They also fit an adult routine. No food restrictions, normal flossing, and no emergency visits for a broken bracket. Appointments are short and spaced out, which matters when time off is limited.
Adults are usually the best aligner patients we have, because the wear time requirement is a matter of habit rather than supervision. If you can leave them in except when you eat or brush, treatment tends to run on schedule and land where the plan said it would.
If your case needs braces instead, we will say so at your free consult and explain why, including whether ceramic brackets would get you close to the discretion you were after. Either way you get an exact fee, a timeline, and payment terms that start at 10% down with no interest.
